Taiwan developers are setting up an exhibition to display their model properties at the ongoing 14th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, Fujian province. As CCTV reporter finds out, many are hoping to attract mainland investment.

This year's annual nation-wide trade and investment gala saw a new industry in the spotlight this year. A group of Taiwan companies in land, construction and architecture set up their own exhibitions for the first time at the fair. One of the major players, Taiwan Land Development, staged the largest at 4 hundred square meters.

Qiu Fusheng, Chairman of Taiwan Land Dev't Corp. said "We want to showcase our architecture ideas for the future, in order to communicate with mainland developers. For example, the idea of technology and consumer needs."

But it's not just showcasing designs. Taiwan property developers are also hoping to acquire mainland investment.

Yang Zheng, Chairman of Taiwan Vedan Enterprise said "It used to be that Taiwan companies invested in the mainland. Now the mainland economy is improving. We have a project in Taichung in which we hope to work with mainland firms."

In June this year, Taiwan authorities approved the establishment of a committee to conduct research on cross-strait real estate regulation. Its aim will be to provide research and consultation for mainland investment in Taiwan. Developers hope the signing of EFCA will bring even more opportunities for cross-strait collaboration in the real estate sector.
